Alternative Brewing Warranty Policy

Please contact Alternative Brewing via the Contact Us page or by emailing orders@alternativebrewing.com.au directly for all warranty and product support requests. This includes products that carry a manufacturer’s warranty.

 

General Terms

1.1  The benefits given to you in Alternative Brewing's Warranty Policy are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under law in relation to the goods or services to which Alternative Brewing's Warranty relates.   Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.  Alternative Brewing retains the sole discretion to determine the extent of the failure. Where a failure does not amount to a major failure, Alternative Brewing is entitled to choose between providing you with a repair, replacement or other suitable remedy.

1.2 Subject to section 1.1 and the terms below, any liability of Alternative Brewing in connection with goods and services supplied by us to you will, subject to the maximum extent permitted by law, at the election of Alternative Brewing, be limited to the replacement or repair of the goods, the supply of equivalent goods, the payment of the cost of replacing or repairing the goods or the payment of the cost of obtaining equivalent goods or refund during the Warranty Term specified for the product below, commencing from the date of purchase against any manufacturing defects only:

  •     Accessories and other equipment:  12 months Return to Base warranty or as dictated by manufacturer/importer
  •     Espresso machines and grinders (domestic use): 12 months Return to Base parts, no labour warranty
  •     Espresso machines and grinders (commercial use - i.e cafes): 12 months Return to Base parts, no labour warranty

unless stated otherwise on individual product pages. Some products do not include warranty for labour. Parts may refer to consumable parts only - please contact us if you have any queries.

1.3 To make a claim under Alternative Brewing's Warranty Policy you will need to:

a) Contact Alternative Brewing via the contact details listed on the Contact Us page on our website or by emailing orders@alternativebrewing.com.au directly to  register your claim and provide the details to enable Alternative Brewing to assess the claim.

(b) Provide or make the goods available to Alternative Brewing if requested or as otherwise agreed with Alternative Brewing. If you are required to return the goods to Alternative Brewing, details will be provided to you of the return procedure.  We recommend that you keep your original product packaging if possible. In the unlikely event that you are required to return the goods and you do not have the original packaging, you will bear the responsibility for safely packaging your the goods for transport and Alternative Brewing accepts no liability for any damage that may occur in transit.

(c) Please note, you will need to submit proof of purchase (e.g. invoice or purchase receipt) with your claim.  If Alternative Brewing cannot be satisfied of a valid proof of purchase then, under the law, Alternative Brewing is entitled to reject the return of your product.

1.4  Alternative Brewing's Warranty Policy applies for domestic orders only and does not extend internationally.

 

Product Assessment and Warranty Claims

2.1  If the product is required to be returned to Alternative Brewing for assessment and a fault can safely and clearly be determined, in accordance with the General Terms above, we will offer you either a refund, exchange or repair. The available remedy will depend on whether the fault amounts to a major failure subject to the General Terms above.

2.2 In some instances, we may need to consult with the manufacturer or importer to determine the fault and resolution. Most faults can be easily repaired within a reasonable time frame. Whist we understand that many customers would like a loan machine in the event of a warranty item, we regret that this service is not available. We prioritise all warranty assessments and work to ensure the most efficient service possible.

2.3 In the even that there is no fault found with the product, it will be made available for collection from Alternative Brewing or returned to you by our choice of delivery service. In the event that the product is returned to you the cost of shipping will be borne by you.

 

General Exclusions and Limitations

3.0 To the full extent permitted by law, but subject always to 1.1, the Alternative Brewing Warranty will not apply if the product has not been installed, operated, maintained or used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions or specifications provided with the product. This includes if the product has been damaged via misuse or abuse. Examples include but are not limited to inadequately filtered water, operator errors, unauthorised repair work or modification and fair wear and tear.

 

Alternative Brewing Warranty FAQs

What should I do if I am having difficulties with getting my product to work?

If you are experiencing problems operating your product, we strongly recommend that you contact us.  It is our experience that often issues thought to be product faults can usually be resolved with some basic ‘troubleshooting’. We have a helpful customer service team and product specialists to assist you with any issues you have with your products.

What should I do if I have if I have fixed or bulky items to return?

If your product cannot be easily returned to us please contact us and we will do our best to offer a local solution. Please note that this may not be possible in all areas of Australia.

Does the Warranty Policy apply if I purchase from overseas? 

Sadly our warranty policy only applies to products sold and delivered within Australia and does not extend internationally. For international customers experiencing issues with a product please get in contact with our customer service team and we will do our best to offer a resolution.
