Who is Scott Rao?
When Scott Rao was only 22, he opened his first cafe and roastery in Amherst, MA- which quickly became popular, with over 1000 customers daily. After Scott sold his first cafe, he took his talents to the coffee industry in New Zealand. He later came back to America and opened a restaurant. Then, he established a Montreal-based cafe that shifted the way people made coffee globally.
Scott Rao as a Writer
As a writer, Scott Rao has produced what is, quite simply, the most in-depth and useful books ever written on brewing espresso. His passion for roasting coffee is evident in his writing, and he has been teaching a masterclass on the subject for years.
The Professional Barista's Handbook, for one, is an essential guide for anyone who takes their coffee seriously. This book covers everything from espresso extraction and equipment maintenance to milk steaming and drink assembly. Rao's clear and concise writing makes complex concepts easy to understand, and his wealth of experience shines through on every page.
After writing a few coffee books, Scott decided to become a consultant and now robe different coffee shops around the world. Not only does he roast coffee beans and teach others how to do the same, but he also designs new roasting equipment.
Scott Rao is one of the most important figures in the coffee industry today. His work has helped to shape the way we make and enjoy coffee, and his commitment to quality is evident in everything that he does.
