Fellow specifically created the Opus as an espresso grinder. It has 41 settings plus a fine-tuning internal ring to help you grind as fine as you want. Compared with the brand’s iconic Ode grinders (which were designed for filter), the Opus has 10 more settings to cover everything from coarse grinds for cold brewing to fine grinds for espresso. They were also careful to keep the Opus at an affordable price point by using conical burrs instead of flat ones.

Great grinder!
Really really happy with this new grinder - the grind consistency is great, it's quiet and relatively quick, and the coffee is worlds better than the previous cheapo grinder I had. It arrived promptly, and the shipping updates and tracking were really good. Overall a great experience!

Decent grinder
Great grinder for the price with numerous grind size options. Does have a decent amount of retention but I think this is something all grinders have issues with, especially in this price range. Looks sleek not overly noisy.

Perfect for one
The single dose coffee dispenser is perfect for making a quick espresso for one, and no mess. It looks beautiful and chic on the kitchen countertop with my compact coffee machine too, and takes up limited counter space which was a top concern for me.

Quality grinder and very accessible
Grinder is easy to use and has a great range of grind sizes. It’s been great for stovetop Moka pot and filter coffee. There is a decent amount of retention between grinds, but that’s to be expected at the price point. Overall a really great value grinder which has served me well

Opus grinder is as good as it sounds
Super quiet. Excellent quality so far. Minor issue is the fact that a few grams of grounds will dump from the outlet if you bump machine or put the lid back on due to vacuum which makes antistatic sort of irrelevant. I love it anyway. Able to tune grind and get super specific to make your espresso just right based on the beans. Love the way it looks. Overall so happy with this grinder. Years of great coffee grinds ahead.

Opus has 41 settings on the outer adjustment ring, which can be seen when looking directly at Opus. This ring can adjust between numbered settings from 1 to 11. Between each numbered setting are 4 minor increments, allowing you to set your grind setting by increments of 0.25. With this setup, there are technically 120 positions on Opus. Underneath the load bin is a blue ring that allows you to get between the 4 minor increments in the outer ring. That’s what the “41+” means!
Opus has two grind adjustment rings: an outer ring and an inner ring and you will use these rings to set your optimal grind size. You can access the inner ring by removing the load bin. Use the inner ring to enable micro adjustments, expand the grind range and calibrate the Opus as the burrs wear in.
Yes! Opus can grind for all brew methods, from the finest espresso for a true 9-bar shot all the way to the coarsest coffee for cold brew.
The Opus is really quiet under load. In fact, it sounds almost the same volume with or without beans being ground. It is around 74db under load.
