The Drip-Assist features two hole sizes to accommodate the different water flows needed to obtain consistently good brews: the larger inner holes for pouring water for blooming and creating high turbulence flow in the middle of the brew, and the finer outer holes that create an even, gentle shower of water for the rest of the brewing process.

Hario V60 Drip-Assist Features
Creates an even, gentle flow of water - The smaller holes in the Drip-Assist’s outer ring create a gentle shower that distributes about 3.5 grams of water per second, ensuring only mild agitation of the coffee grinds below.
Regulates your pouring speed - The barrier between the inner and outer rings will guide you in regulating your pouring speed. Pouring too aggressively will cause the water from the outer ring to overflow into the central ring, directing a heavier flow of water into the coffee bed.
Eliminates the need for a gooseneck kettle - No gooseneck kettle? No problem. The Drip-Assist will take care of the water flow no matter the kind of kettle you use.
Works with the W60 too - This dome-shaped brewing accessory also fits on top of the W60.

Making a Freight Protection Claim
- To assess your claim, you will be required to provide photo and/or video evidence of the damaged product.
- All Freight Protections claims must be made within 3 business days of receiving your product.

Hario V60 Drip-Assist
Loving the Hario V60 Drip-Assist. Just starting out with pour over coffee and don’t have all the coffee gear, but with the drip assist it makes it easy. Great product, and great service from Alternate brewing, I really love the YouTube videos that give advise and tips to making the perfect cup.

Great Start to Drip Coffee
Using the Drip Assist is such an easy way to start to experience drip coffee - I start with two fills in the middle and then agitate the dripper to get all of the grounds wet. I then wait 45 sec's for bloom and then run water mostly in the outer holes and some in the center - it comes out great and it is very forgiving. I find the water temp is the difference - I use a standard kettle - but lucky for me I have a instant read thermomitor so I generally let the keetle cool to below 96c before I start wetting the filter which heats everything up / disscarding that water. I am using scales at the moment just to get a feel for how much water fills up the inside / outside water wells - it is pretty consistent so I won't need the scales over...read more

Good for learning pour-over
Got this thing when I first bought a V60. Very helpful if you don't have a gooseneck kettle or a Hario Air Kettle. I did find that the coffee bed in the V60 was quite uneven at the end of the pour, but that's to be expected. We did get an Air Kettle, and subsequently a gooseneck kettle, so this fella hasn't been used for a while now.

Easy to use
I thought I'd pick one of these up at the same time as a V60 kit, and it helps to take out some of the learning curve. Fits neatly and securely on top of the funnel and helps to get a good flow of hot water in the top while still getting other aspects dialled in (so then I'm not questioning my pouring methods just yet)
