Add fresh beans to your order

An exciting upgrade from the DF64. The Turin DF64V Gen2 features more durable burrs and a more powerful motor with variable speed, all while keeping the noise levels down. Like its predecessor, this all-purpose grinder has a wide range of grind settings and a zero-retention design for accurate dosing.

Powerful but quiet

The DF64V’s 300W variable speed motor is more than just efficient -- it also allows you to choose between 600-1800 RPM, whichever suits your coffee beans and brewing method the best. The grinder’s speed can be adjusted using the rotary knob on the side that’s paired with an easy-to-read LED display. And the best part is, even at 1800 RPM, the DF64V is blissfully quiet, making it such a fantastic coffee grinder for the home.

Improved grinding experience

Designed for zero-retention grinding, the streamlined built and bellow system of the DF64V ensures the grinding chamber is clear from errant coffee grounds after each batch. This guarantees you start with fresh coffee beans each time and that your dose is as accurate as ever.

Another wonderful update to the DF64V is the addition of the magnetic popcorning device which prevents your beans from jumping around the chamber, improving the grind size uniformity. Lastly, the external grind adjustment ring is now a thing of the past. In this new design, the grind setting indicator is static. To adjust the burr position, you’ll be rotating the chamber itself.

Built to last

The 64mm flat burrs in the DF64V are strengthened with DLC (Diamond-Like-Carbon) coating, giving it a lifespan of 3000 KG at a minimum plus a clean grinding process all throughout. Durable and high-performing through its lifetime, the DF64V is a worthy investment for the home barista who’s serious about making good coffee in their own kitchen.

Now with an innovative plasma generator, nestled in the dosing chute, to ensure a clean and consistent grind, minimising static and clumping. While microscopic, it packs a punch, guaranteeing a fresh and mess-free countertop.

perfect single dose

I bought this grinder among other things because I wanted to switch to single dosing. The motor is very quiet which is great as I usually make my coffee very early. Design is sleek and sexy and stepless adjustment makes it so easy to fine tune beans. Fees opening is quite small so definitely recommend having a separate dosing cup for spritzing. Definitely recommend

Great grinder

For the money this grinder excels. The grinder is whisper quiet when running (whilst a tad loud when grinding). The workflow is great requiring only RDT to make it less messy. Retention is zero for grind to grind with a minimal 0.1g coming out the next grind/day. The stock DLC burrs have been quite exceptional at espresso and decent for filter I haven't felt the need to swap in my SSP MP burrs. RPM control is a neat addition and does add a level of control to your grind, (600-700 for filter for less fines and 1000+ for espresso). Lastly the ability to access the burrs without tools is a huge plus. Especially for people who want to mess around with alignment or even just to do a deep clean. Nearest competitors require a multitude of bolts/springs removed to access the burr chambers. All round awesome grinder.

Great grinder if you have a spare kidney wearing a hole in your pocket!

Really good - premium looking/feeling product. Workflow is great, my only real complaint about workflow is the dinky little dosing cup pedestal gets grounds caught in the lip and needs attention to clean properly. Otherwise, the magnetic chute is a simple but awesome innovation and makes it very simple to keep clean. Retention is commonly between .1 and 0 grams (really impressed) and the espresso grind is very consistent. My only other complaint is that I have to dial in every time I remove the top to clean the burrs properly - the grind setting does not seem consistent at all, but this is a minor gripe.

The Wait is Over

I waited about 12 month to find the right grinder to go with my new coffee machine... and here it is. For the money the DG64V is the winner.

A Cautionary Tale

Bought this grinder several months ago, I soon found that it would not grind fine enough for espresso. Great for French Press, however. After searching the web, I discovered that the ''Scale Indicator Ring" was preventing the ''Adjustment Disk'' from sitting correctly. The resolution of this mechanical issue was easy enough. Grinder now works well. Also, I had to use WD40 to loosen and remove the ''Dial Scale'' to access the burrs for cleaning.

FAQ

The new DF64V has a standard DLC (Diamond-Like-Carbon) coated burr, which entails special manufacturing technology, guaranteeing an above-average operating life of ~3000 KG minimum and a clean grinding process.
The grind setting of the DF64 grinder is adjusted by turning the top collar. Turning the collar clockwise adjusts the grind setting finer, and turning counter-clockwise adjusts the grind setting coarser, as indicated by the markings and metal indicator.
The DF64V has a variable RPM and a quieter motor.
Most DF64 grinders are designed to come from the factory with burrs that are well aligned. If the flavour profile of your coffee meets your expectations, you will not need to adjust. However, if you want to go all-in for a more tailored experience, the marker test is our recommendation.

Short of turning off at powerpoint, is there any way to power down the DF64v? Just concerned the white-lit RPM led display will eventually fail if power is permanently connected. Also, should the DF64v motor stop-rotation/power down after 45 seconds? And if so, only after beans are processed? or regardless of whether beans are processed?

Hi Matt, Thanks for reaching out. These units do not feature an on/off switch and will need to be fully powered off at the wall. I would recommend a smart switch if you do want to avoid doing that. The auto-stop feature kicks in after 45 seconds with or without beans. Kind Regards, Alternative Brewing.
