Designed to prevent water channelling, the Normcore espresso tools Puck Screen creates a gentler delivery of water to the coffee bed. Just place it on top of your coffee puck before attaching the portafilter to the coffee machine.

With more choices than ever before - the latest addition of PVD Coating to your favourite Puck Screen increases longevity through everyday use - and enhances the screen's thermal stability.

The Ultra-Slim option boasts 0.2mm thickness in the disc, compared to 1.7mm, this can assist in fitting it inside the filter basket, and on top of your puck when the 1.7mm can occasionally be too thick, especially for a full dose.

FAQ

Yes, puck screens really work. They keep the group head cleaner, preventing grounds from getting stuck, which helps with long-term maintenance. They fit perfectly in a 58 mm portafilter. Additionally, they improve shot consistency by ensuring even water distribution, leading to better extraction and taste. Just leave enough head space in the basket for the puck screen. Overall, they're a great addition for any home barista.
Yes, it is recommended to pre-heat the puck screen before placing it over the coffee in the portafilter. This ensures a balanced extraction without becoming a heat sink for the water coming out of the boiler.
Wash thoroughly and rinse with warm water after every use. Clean with machine cleaner or a blast from the steam wand if the product is stained or clogged with grounds..
For the best thickness of a puck screen, it is recommended to choose a 1.7mm thickness for normal coffee ground doses that do not affect extraction. However, when dealing with larger and very fine coffee ground doses, opting for the ultra-slim thickness puck screen is advised.
