- Coarsely grind 80g of coffee into the mesh filter.
- Add 1000ml of cold, clean water to the pot.

Mix the concentrate with cold water and ice for iced coffee, hot water for hot coffee, or mixers and a spirit for a coffee cocktail.

Making a Freight Protection Claim

So good, I bought two!
I Love cold brew coffee, and have tried lots of different ways of making it, but this Method is by far the best and simplest. I just use a cup of beans, give it a rough grind, put it in the filter cup, and let the water dripping until the jug fall. I leave it in the fridge overnight and take the grounds out in the morning. Because I’m a big coffee drinker, I always have one jug for drinking, and one jug that is soaking. Just be worn, cold brew coffee is very strong, and I diluted half strength. Some people don’t, but I find I get quite jittery if I don’t do this! This is by far the best system I’ve ever used.

Simple and effective, but not perfect.
Very reasonable price for a thing that makes delicious cold brew coffee! Super easy to use. I would give 5 stars, but there are some mildly infuriating features... 1. It's very tall, so unless you have a fridge with plenty of shelf-height, it has to go on one of the door shelves; and even then, it may be too tall. This also means you can't fit it in most dishwashers. 2. It has a fairly wide 'footprint', meaning it may struggle to fit in narrow fridge door shelves. (Or in car cup holders if you think you can be smart and take it to work with you, like I did.) 3. The filter just sits in the top, with the lid to hold it in place. Wish I had gotten one of these ages ago. Absolutely love making myself cold brew, especially in the hot summer!!
FAQ
A coarse grind is ideal for cold brewing in this pot, as it allows for optimal extraction and prevents sediment from passing through the filter.
Hario recommends using 80 grams of coarse ground coffee for a full 1000mL pot and brewing for 8-12 hours in the refrigerator for a smooth and balanced flavour. Steeping longer can result in a stronger brew.
Soak the strainer in boiling water, then use a soft sponge and neutral detergent to gently clean it.
It is most likely that the concentrate was over extracted by too much time or too fine of a grind. For immersion, you can reduce the brew time or use a coarser grind.
